  Yes, the unit piggy-backs in the stock unit and therefore takes over the steering wheel controls as well. The bluetooth connection supports a2dp so media over bluetooth is perfectly capable (tested with nexus 5 and moto x)
• Is this unit compatible with the version that has vent shutter buttons near the vents
  I had the same question, and the answer is yes as I installed it myself. The shutter buttons are attached to the OEM panel, so you'll have to detach those from that panel. It is a click system so it is do-able, and it is seperate from the ventilation ribs. Keep in mind that you'll lose the vent shutters on the new front plate, so this option is gone once replaced but to answer the question; The unit is compatible, even if you have vent shutter buttons.
