- How is the processing speed? Specifically boot up time, response time after selecting a menu item, and the time it takes to process a route?I don't really have anything to compare it with, but for me it is plenty fast enough. Maybe 30 seconds to find a route. I have not yet managed to plot a route in the Tyre software and transfer it to the 400 and some of the logic within the 400 needs fine tuning. For example, from my research motorbikes do not have to pay a toll on the Dartford Tunnel/Bridge, but if you tell the satnav to avoid tolls there is no way that device will direct you through the tunnel. What is more important for me is that when I am riding it plots my position and instructs me in time to make the next turning. The Rider 400 certainly does this with time to spare. I am still getting to know the software and there have been some teething problems; like not being able to find the terminus for Le Chunnel in Calais, luckily I spotted a road sign. Apart from that the 400 can generally be relied upon to get you where you are going.
